Happy Valentine's Day

Do you remember exchanging valentine's in grade school? Decorating little mailboxes and picking out the cutest valentines for your favorite friends or that special someone? I have always loved Valentine's Day. How could you not like a holiday that allows you to use hearts and frills with abandon, yet still be taken seriously?
Not content to let the kiddos have all the fun this year, I signed up for a postcard swap. This may very well be the start of a new hobby. Armed with glue and some old books and magazines from the 40's and 50's, I set to work. I had forgotten how much I enjoy cut and paste. Only after finishing all the cards and sending them out into the world did I start looking at books and websites about altered art and collage. It's a good thing too, I would have stressed over the look and technique too much, wanting to get it "right" and it would have become work. I'm really happy with the way they turned out, it was hard letting them go.
