We have this coffee table that I have never really liked. It was originally hunter green with a dark brown stained top. Some time ago, in an effort to make it more friendly-looking, I painted it red. That helped for awhile, but I still felt that it hadn't yet found its calling. Those short, stubby legs just didn't do anything for it.
I decided it would be much happier as a desk. I figured out how high it needed to be, then my husband did all the work. He cut down some legs from an old dining table we had and screwed them into the coffee table legs. Voila, instant desk. I think I will eventually paint it, but I'm kind of enjoying the whole Frankenstein effect.
