Zombie-A-GoGo

Happy Halloween!

The last several days have been a whirlwind of costumes, blood, candy and cupcakes. As much as I love Halloween, I'm glad its winding down.

Big T and I attended a Halloween party over the weekend. Fun times. We got all dolled-up in our zombie best. This is the first time in years that we have dressed up, so it was a pretty big deal. It was also the first time in years for keg beer, but that is another matter. As most such parties go I met lots of new people, made lots of small talk, had some great party food, then puked in the yard.

Little T had his party last week so he was knighted early in the game. Good thing, too. He got to experience a cheerful mama. A mama caught up in the Halloween spirit, happily whirring away at the sewing machine, putting together goody bags and decorating cupcakes.

Little Scarlet didn't fare as well. Oh her costume got finished and it looks beautiful, but at noon today I was still trying to figure out how to make a pointy princess hat. Her party was to start at 1pm, the cupcakes had yet to be iced(let alone decorated)and I could not find anything in this whole damn house to fashion into a princess hat. Finally, I came across a piece of poster board under the sofa. Okay, it was under the sofa in a large folder with my daughter's name on it and on one side of the board was a delicate silhouette of the most adorable face you have ever seen...on the other side was written Preschool 2004.

Sometimes you have to make sacrifices.

"As most such parties go I met lots of new people, made lots of small talk, had some great party food, then puked in the yard."

All of the costumes look perfect! And those cupcakes you made are so cool. I will have to remember them for next year for our Halloween party.
